The proposal was for a
new single storey office building of approximately 91sq.m. to provide a much needed
Board Room, Directors Office, Reception Tea Station, W.C. and storage of files. The application was approved in September 2017.
The company that controls and runs the hotel needed to relocation their office from Newton Aycliffe
to the Hallgarth Hotel, Darlington to assist with the day to day running of the
Hotel and Country Club. The
existing building to the South of the existing car park is the ideal location
for use as the office. Unfortunately, this building is dilapidated and in such
a poor condition that repair is not possible and the building needs to be
demolished as described in the structural report. The
proposal is designed to be sympathetic to the Grade II listed hotel and its
surroundings and includes materials and features that replicated the existing
dilapidated building.
