The project was for the change of use of an existing single storey barn to provide additional living area to the existing adjacent dwelling. The barn was to be extended to provide a link between the barn and dwelling and then converted and modernised to provide a large dining area, study, additional bedroom and bathroom.
We worked closely with the local planning authority to ensure the barn kept as much of the original features as possible; all new windows and doors were timber, the new roof was finished with clay pantiles and new stonework walls built from reclaimed stone, all to match that of the existing barn.
